Giorgio Reni is a master at reading and connecting with his audience, no matter the type of event or venue where he may find himself. Giorgio skillfully follows the lines of both house and techno in all of it?s many forms, never failing to brilliantly take the dance floor on a trip filled with energetic rhythms and groovy funky base lines.? -Stephen Justesen- DJFA.COM 2007 A product of the planets largest city, Mexico City, Giorgio?s unique and distinctive style has not only been influenced and inspired by the city?s dynamic, energetic, and never boring music scene, but Giorgio, has likewise for the last 13 years played a key role and creative force in shaping and directing the evolving electronic music scene in Mexico. Giorgio launched his music career in 1994 while studying Physical Anthropology at the ?Escuela Nacional de Antropologia e Historia,? in Mexico City. In that year Giorgio produced his first tracks, and began sporadically DJ?ing in clubs in both Cuernavaca and Mexico City. In 1996 Giorgio decided to leave his university studies to pursue his love of music, devoting himself full time to producing and DJ?ing. Giorgio's DJ sets and live acts have taken him on several tours to clubs, and music festivals throughout Mexico and around the world. The most notable being Earthdance, and Technogeist- Mexico; Fusion Festival- Germany; Vesterbro Festival, Culture Box, and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival- Denmark; The Macarena Club, Benidorm, Fabula, and La paloma- Spain, and several private events throughout Italy. In 1997 ?El Colmillo.? opened in Mexico City and Giorgio was hired on as resident D.J. and put in charge of booking the monthly DJ line up. In that time Giorgio booked practically all the top electronic national and international DJ's, bands and live acts quickly making ?El Colmillo,? one of the most recognized and respected clubs in Mexico and at the same time playing a crucial role in the development of the electronic music scene in Mexico. Giorgio has also held residencies at some of Mexico?s best clubs such as, Oxygen- Veracruz, Akashi- Toluca, Galaxies- Mexico City, Barracuda- Mexico City, and Doberman- Mexico City. Giorgio has shared line ups with such major live acts and DJ's as: Kruder & Dorfmeister, Cristian Duran, Steve Bug, Jimmy Van M, Der Dritte Raum, Alexander Kowalsky, Truby Trio, True 2 Nature, and Gianni Vitiello to name just a few. Some of Giorgio?s other career highlights include in 1997 when Giorgio was one of the first to begin playing live acts of tech house music in Mexico. In 2004 Giorgio produced the track, ?La Tierra? with Jokke, and Trentemoller and remixed the track ?Love? for the well known Mexican band Zoé. In 2005 Giorgio finished the Downbeats Vol. 1 Compilation on Vistlan Records with renown Mexican and Danish musical projects like Sanchez Dub, Bujok, Blue Foundation, Kin Vega and Rumpistol to name a few. Giorgio presently resides in Mexico City where he runs and operates his own professional sound studio, and record label, Vistlan Records. Both his studio and record label are integral to the development of the electronic music scene in Mexico as well as abroad where Giorgio has successfully promoted both local and foreign projects to a worldwide audience, strengthening the exchange between musicians and artists around the world. Giorgio?s current projects include producing, remixing, DJ?ing and work on his new live act. Giorgio?s most recent tracks ?Puffo? will be included in Jokke Ilsoe?s upcoming mix CD for Brazilian record label Tropical Beats 2007, and ?Palmas on the Beats? was recently released by soc.sub.org. Both these productions have received excellent reviews from numerous top international DJ?s.
